The essentials
Except for images you actively submit to Alibaba Cloud for image cutout, Fanumi does not upload your archives, galleries, timelines, collections, room settings, or other user content to any server. Other content is stored and processed on your device. Photos, device music library, and notification permissions are optional and can be revoked. Privacy contact: ifanfaniu@163.com.
Fanumi is developed and operated by the individual developer wenjieyang (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy covers the Fanumi iOS app and these legal information pages. Please read it together with notices shown for specific features, particularly those involving photos, portraits, minors, or cloud processing.
Contents
01 · Information we handle
The current app does not require a Fanumi account. You do not need to provide a phone number, identification number, or social media login to use local recordkeeping features.
Archives, timelines, and collections
Information: Names, birthdays or anniversary dates, titles, stories, tags, imported photos and videos, crop positions, frames, and themes that you choose to add.
Purpose and processing: Saving, finding, displaying, editing, and creating your selected cards or records on your device. The app reads properties such as media dimensions, type, and duration to display media correctly. These records and media are processed locally and are not uploaded to any server, except for an image you actively select for Alibaba Cloud cutout as described in section 3.
Local music and video audio
Information: Audio you explicitly select from Files or the device music library, audio extracted from a video you select, and the selected item's title, duration, artwork, and lyrics where available, plus folders and playback preferences.
Purpose and processing: To import, organize, and play your songs and show their sound visualization, artwork, and lyrics. Extraction, audio conversion, analysis, and storage take place on your device. These audio files and music metadata are not uploaded to us or advertising services. We do not scan the entire device music library for analytics or advertising profiles.
Only local, accessible media without DRM protection is supported. Fanumi does not provide link downloads, music-platform parsing, or DRM removal, and cannot import protected Apple Music subscription downloads or cloud-only songs. Files is a system document picker; if you choose a third-party file provider, that provider may download your selected file under its own terms before Fanumi can read it.
Reminders, rooms, and characters
Information: Reminder dates and text, character and room settings, furniture positions, interaction progress, and Star Coin records.
Purpose and processing: Keeping preferences and progress on your device and scheduling reminders through local system notifications. These records are not uploaded to any server. The current version has no account-based cloud sync.
Email you choose to send outside the app
Information: Your sending email address, description of the issue, and screenshots or attachments you choose to include.
Purpose and processing: We receive this information only when you actively contact us by email, to answer questions, handle feedback, and address privacy requests. The app does not send it automatically. Please do not send passwords, secret keys, identification documents, or unrelated private information.
Version 1.0.0 did not include an advertising SDK. From version 1.0.1, builds with advertising enabled involve the Google AdMob processing described below. We do not use your local collections for advertising profiles or provide your collected photos, text or artist preferences to advertising services.
02 · Optional permissions
- Reading Photos: To select and import images or videos, including a video you choose for on-device audio extraction. Where iOS supports limited access, you may authorize only selected photos. Declining permission prevents the corresponding import feature from accessing your library; saved content remains available.
- Adding to Photos: To save an image or card when you ask to do so. Declining prevents saving in this way, without preventing editing inside the app.
- Device music library: Requested only when you tap “Device music library” to choose a song. iOS may call this permission “Media & Apple Music”; Fanumi uses it only for your selected, accessible local song and its metadata. Declining does not prevent importing from Files or playing songs already saved in Fanumi. There is no Apple Music subscription playback or catalog access.
- Notifications: For birthdays, anniversaries, and reminders you set. Disabling notifications stops system alerts; you can still view the records in the app.
Manage permissions in iPhone Settings under Fanumi or the relevant permission category; the exact location varies by iOS version. Current features do not request contacts, location, microphone, camera, or cross-app advertising tracking permission.
Revoking Photos or device music library access does not delete copies you previously imported into the app. See section 6 for deletion options.
03 · Cloud cutout and portrait effects
Cloud image cutout is an optional online feature. The app explains it on first use and lets you choose whether to continue. Later processing occurs only when you actively request cutout for a selected image. The app does not scan and upload your whole gallery in the background.
When online processing is needed, the app uploads the selected image, potentially cropped and compressed for processing, to the Alibaba Cloud object storage used for this feature, then calls its human-body segmentation service. The service separates the subject from the background and returns a transparent-background image to your device. The request also involves technical information necessary for transmission, such as your IP address, request time, and request identifier.
This is image editing, not identity verification, face matching, or the creation of a face identity database. We do not use submitted images to train our models, for advertising, or for public display. Images may contain your portrait or other people's personal information. Submit only content you have the right to process, and avoid unnecessary sensitive content such as identification documents or private scenes.
Outline, glow, and relief effects are processed and rendered on your device. These effects do not upload images or effect data to servers. A relief effect is a visual representation, not a measurement of a person's actual three-dimensional body or identity.
Cutout results and necessary caches are saved on your device. Section 5 explains cloud source-image deletion and possible failures. Declining cloud cutout does not prevent basic local archives, timelines, or collections.
04 · Third-party services
Google AdMob advertising and privacy choices (from 1.0.1)
Versions with advertising enabled use the Google Mobile Ads SDK for app open ads and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) for applicable privacy choices. Ads appear only on the loading screen when a new app process starts, including after the system has terminated the previous process. Returning from the background does not show an ad. Failed, timed-out or ineligible requests proceed into the app, and no ad appears after the home screen has opened.
Provider: Google LLC and the Google entity applicable to your region. Information: IP address and approximate location inferred from it; app- or developer-scoped device identifiers; ad impressions and interactions; crash logs, performance and other diagnostic information; and consent or refusal choices. Google may use this information for ad delivery and measurement, fraud prevention, analytics and service improvement. The advertising SDK is not given access to your archives, photo collection, music files or artist preferences.
Current configuration: we request non-personalized ads, disable publisher first-party ID and publisher privacy personalization, and do not request cross-app tracking permission or use IDFA for advertising tracking. Non-personalized ads may still involve technical information, storage or identifiers: they do not mean no data collection or no consent requirement. Any future purpose requiring tracking would require a separate notice and applicable permission first.
In the EEA, UK, Switzerland and other applicable regions, ad requests must pass the applicable consent flow. After refusal, only permitted limited ads may be served, or no ads are shown. In applicable US states, you may opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising. Where required, change your choices under Settings & Data → Ad privacy. Withdrawing a choice does not prevent local collection features, and personalized-ad consent is not required to use Fanumi.
Advertising information may be processed outside your country. Google processes it under its applicable privacy policy, retention rules and transfer arrangements. Clearing local app data cannot directly delete records already held by Google. Use Google's privacy controls or contact us for assistance. See Google's Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from partner sites and apps, and SDK data disclosure information.
Alibaba Cloud Object Storage and Visual Intelligence
Provider: Alibaba Cloud Computing Co., Ltd. (阿里云计算有限公司).
When used: When you actively request cloud image cutout, through network APIs for temporary image storage and human-body segmentation.
Information involved: The selected image, segmentation result, and technical information needed for transmission and service security, including IP address, request time, and request identifiers.
Processing region: The current cutout feature uses the Shanghai region in mainland China.
Provider information: Alibaba Cloud privacy policy and customer business data terms.
Apple system features provide photo selection, saving, notifications, and sharing. When you actively share content with another app, the recipient handles it under its own rules. You can cancel before sending.
UI libraries such as SnapKit and IGListKit handle on-device layout and lists. These components do not send your images or archives to their developers.
We process or provide information only for the purposes described, with any required authorization, or to meet legal obligations. Where a service provider acts on our behalf, we specify the purpose, scope, and protection requirements as required by law. If a merger or similar change transfers responsibility for information, we will give legally required notice of the recipient and obtain fresh consent where required for a changed purpose or method.
05 · Storage, retention, and security
Records on your device
Except for actively submitted cutout images, your archives, timelines, media copies, room settings, and other user content stay on your device. They remain there for your use and can be managed as described in section 6. The current version does not enable in-app iCloud sync. Whole-device backups, device transfers, or external exports you choose to use are governed by the relevant system or service.
The device may keep thumbnails, cutout results, and derived relief caches to avoid repeated processing. Caches are separate from originals or edited results you deliberately save. Deleting the app removes data in its app container; system backups and exported copies must be managed separately.
Temporary cutout files
Images uploaded to the Alibaba Cloud storage used for cutout have private access. Temporary access credentials are created for processing. After success or a failed request, the app sends a request to delete the source image.
A deletion request may fail because of lost connectivity, app interruption, or a cloud service error. An expired access link does not itself mean the file has been deleted. To check or request removal of a temporary image, contact us with the approximate processing time and a description of the issue. You do not need to resend the original image first.
The returned image is downloaded for local editing. Alibaba Cloud's own technical logs and handling of processing results follow its applicable service and privacy terms. You can contact us about related personal information requests.
Feedback and safeguards
Information you email is retained only as necessary to address the feedback, resolve related disputes, and meet legal obligations, and is deleted or anonymized when no longer needed and no legal retention duty applies. Contacting support does not add you to a marketing list.
We use safeguards such as encrypted network transport and private file access. If a personal information security incident occurs, we will take remedial steps and provide any notifications or reports required by law. Please also protect your device and keep the app and operating system updated.
06 · Your data and choices
- Access, correction, and copies: View and edit content in the relevant archive, timeline, gallery, or collection. Use available save or share features for supported media exports. Other requests can be sent by email.
- Delete an item: Use the relevant record's edit or delete action.
- Clear archive data: Use “Clear local data” in settings to remove archives, timelines, related media, imported songs, song artwork and lyrics, music folders, and corresponding reminders. Room preferences and some caches may be stored separately. To remove all data in the app container, use iOS “Delete App,” rather than “Offload App,” which keeps app data.
- Manage copies: Deleting a song removes its audio and artwork copies from Fanumi, not the original in Files or the Music app. These actions do not delete originals in Photos, content already shared with others, or system backups. Manage those copies separately.
- Withdraw permission: Turn off Photos, device music library, or notification access in system settings. Stop requesting cloud cutout to stop further image uploads. Contact us to withdraw other consent or request deletion of information already processed.
- Stop using Fanumi: The current version has no Fanumi account and therefore no separate account-deletion step. You can remove your data and stop using or delete the app.
Withdrawal does not affect lawful processing carried out before consent was withdrawn. We verify identity and relevant facts only as necessary for a request, without requiring unrelated information. We will respond promptly and explain any legal reason for not fulfilling a request and available next steps. You may also complain to the relevant privacy authority.
07 · Minors and local records
Fanumi 1.0.1 is intended for teenagers and adults aged 13 and over and is not specifically directed to children under 13. A store content rating does not verify age or establish that a user is an adult. Regional storefronts may display different equivalent ratings. Minors should use the app with a guardian’s guidance and obtain guardian consent when required. We do not infer age from artists or photos in a collection.
Age safeguards for advertising: Fanumi does not require every user to be 18 to receive ads. Where Apple indicates applicable regional age-assurance requirements, we request an age range through Apple. We do not collect birthdays or upload Apple’s raw age range. We send Google the applicable ad-protection category to restrict ad processing. Known users under 13 receive no ads. Eligible users aged 13–15 receive child/under-consent-age ad protections, and users aged 16–17 receive teen protections; all requests remain non-personalized with a general-audience content limit. In other supported regions, users whose age is unknown receive the most restrictive ad treatment without a separate age prompt. Unknown age is never treated as proof of adulthood. If a required age signal or permission is unavailable or declined, no ads load and local collection features remain usable.
Where required for the introduction of advertising, Apple’s system flow requests a parent’s or guardian’s permission or an adult’s acknowledgment of the update. Advertising remains disabled until that requirement is met. The app stores only the update permission/request status needed to avoid repeated requests, not the age range or birthday. Systems that cannot complete a required regional flow remain ad-free. Google UMP manages applicable privacy choices separately from Apple’s age-sharing flow; granting one does not replace the other.
The app fetches a public advertising enablement configuration from the developer website. This request does not include an age response, user archives, or advertising device identifiers. The website hosting service receives basic connection information such as the IP address needed to serve the request.
The same local storage rules apply to minors. Except for images a user actively submits for Alibaba Cloud cutout, the app does not upload minors' archives, photos, text, or birthdays to any server, or create server-side profiles of minors. The developer cannot remotely view, modify, or delete these local records. A guardian can help a minor view, edit, or delete them on the device as described in section 6.
Minors should read this policy and use the relevant features with a guardian's guidance. Cloud cutout uploads the image selected by the user. Where this involves the personal information of a child under 14, legally required consent from a parent or other guardian must be obtained first. Do not submit such images without the necessary authorization. Declining cutout does not prevent basic local collection features.
If a guardian believes an image was submitted to Alibaba Cloud without the necessary consent, they can email us to request investigation, cessation of processing, or deletion. This concerns only an image actually submitted to the cloud and contact information voluntarily provided. It does not mean the developer holds or can access other records on the device.
The description of local content does not mean that the advertising SDK processes no technical information. See section 4 for categories, purposes and choices. A guardian who believes advertising-related processing involves child information without appropriate authorization may contact us to request that processing stop or obtain help requesting deletion from the provider.
08 · Visiting these web pages
These pages require no login and have no image-upload or personal-information form. The page code does not set advertising trackers or behavioral analytics cookies.
These legal information pages are hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub logs and stores visitors' IP addresses for security purposes, whether or not visitors are signed in to GitHub. Technical information needed to deliver the pages may be processed outside mainland China; this is separate from the app's Alibaba Cloud cutout service in Shanghai. For processing details, contacts, and privacy rights, see the GitHub General Privacy Statement and GitHub Pages data collection information. These pages do not receive your app collections, process your images online, or create user profiles.
Loading a web page sends technical request information such as an IP address, browser request information, path, and time to the server delivering it for transmission and necessary security. Visiting this page does not upload your Fanumi collections. External links and email services process related information under their own rules when you choose to use them.
09 · Policy changes
We update this policy to reflect actual features and applicable requirements, and show the revision date. For material changes to purposes, methods, information categories, or your rights, we will explain them through an appropriate notice, such as an in-app notice. Where fresh consent is legally required, we will obtain it before implementing the change; publishing new text alone does not replace that consent.
